Host your own gathering or retreat with us.

We are excited to invite groups to enjoy our space — to immerse in the jungle, learn the origins of cacao, and connect with the Q’eqchi culture.

Let’s collaborate.

We are happy to offer our regenerative center in the mountains of Lanquín for people looking for an immersive and ecologically-oriented Guatemala experience.

We like to collaborate with values-aligned leaders and groups and make it easy for hosts to create meaningful experiences that blend regeneration, cultural immersion, and education.

While we are open to all kinds of creative retreats, these areas would be best suited for our space and most aligned with our values:

  • Cacao origins & regenerative agriculture

  • Permaculture, bioconstruction, herbalism

  • Cultural immersion

  • Detox & rejuvenation

  • Women’s empowerment

  • Service trips

  • Food & culinary workshops

  • Community living experiments

  • Spiritual and ceremonial retreats

  • Friends or family adventure

About The Space

Tuqtuquilal is set on former cow grazing land turned regenerative food forest and is surrounded by wild forest, trails, and streams. At the bottom of the land is a clean, rushing river, perfect for afternoon breaks to cool off. We have to offer:

  • 3 shared cabins

  • 2 private cabins

  • Composting toilets

  • Solar-heated showers

  • Onsite cafe and catered meals

  • Yoga platform

  • Starlink wifi

  • Many trails to explore surrounding mountains

Accommodations

Our cabins are made from all-natural materials like tanil, kala, and wood from local trees — plants that were harvested and purchased from members of the Red Ratzum Cacao Collective, to support a circular economy.

Cabins are rustic and comfortable, with mosquito nets and fans to keep cool at night. Each cabin has either a double or queen size bed and shelves and hooks for storing clothes.

Just steps away from the cabins are composting toilets (which create compost that nourish the soil!) and solar-heated showers.

There are 3 shared cabins available (3 beds each) and 2 private cabins available (1 bed each) for a total of 11 beds.

We have laundry on-site if anyone in your group needs to wash some clothes.

let’s work together

We can help you design the perfect itinerary for your participants that include local nature and culture immersions.

cacao tour

Organize a group cacao tour where you’ll tour the property, learn about our regenerative practices and cacao processing, and even make your own chocolates. Learn more about the cacao tour here.

semuc champey

One of the most beautiful and popular traveler destinations in Lanquín. We can help organize a day-trip to Semuc Champey to refresh and rejuvenate in its crystal waters.

family farm visit

We’ll coordinate a visit for your group to meet a local family of the Red Ratzum Cacao Collective. Enjoy a home-cooked meal at the house and tour their surrounding food forests, seeing how they tend to their cacao and other medicinal foods.

mayan fire ceremony

We can help to coordinate a traditional Mayan fire ceremony with an elder to acknowledge, honor, and pray to the original lifeways of Mayan ancestry.

Optional Extension

Partner with our Sister Site: Casa Awänímä in Lake Atitlán

If your group is coming from far away and you want to spend more time in Guatemala, we can help you to arrange a stay at our sister location, Casa Awänímä, located in the beautiful valley of Tzununá overlooking Lake Atitlán. We can help create an itinerary for a few days at Tuqtuquilal and a few days at Casa Awänímä, so your group can experience two very different climates, cultures, and experiences in Guatemala.

For more info about the other location, visit the Casa Awänímä website.
