Our impact

We measure success by the positive, intergenerational imprint we make on the local community and lands.

boosting the local economy& empowering women

We’ve created the Red Ratzum Cacao Collective to guarantee family farmers fair pricing for their crops and other harvested materials. We also educate, train, and employ women in artisanal food production and hospitality.

regenerating MOUNTAINSIDES

We co-grow biodiverse cacao forests with our Q’eqchi neighbors to cultivate healthy soil and resilient agroforestry systems, resulting in high-integrity medicinal foods that carry Lanquín’s legacy of abundance.

respecting & Promoting ORIGINAL wisdom

We advocate for and revitalize forgotten ancestral practices and maintain original, artisanal methods of cacao processing like fire-toasting beans on the comal and peeling each one by hand.

building repeatable models

We develop models of regenerative development, applying holistic practices in food, water, energy, and bioconstruction, and food forest management. This comprehensive model for resilience has the potential to support more projects in other territories.
